Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-13

These Terms govern your access to and use of Phantum — the website at phantum.app, the Phantum desktop application, and any related APIs (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to use Phantum. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including keeping your Google sign-in credentials secure. You may not share your account or use the Service on behalf of someone else without their consent.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to commit fraud, cheat in academic settings, or violate any law or contract you are subject to (including employer or test-proctor honour codes).
  • Upload content that you do not have the legal right to upload, or that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of others.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer the desktop binary, extract or scrape the underlying AI prompts, or bypass authentication, rate limits, or content protection.
  • Resell, sublicense, or operate the Service as a competing offering without our written permission.

You are solely responsible for how you use the answers Phantum produces. Phantum is an assistive tool — it does not guarantee factually correct output and is not a substitute for professional advice (legal, medical, financial, etc.).

3. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

Free accounts get a limited monthly minutes allowance (see Pricing). Paid subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly basis until you cancel.

  • You can cancel at any time from Dashboard → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then.
  • Charges are non-refundable except where required by law. If your payment fails we will mark the account as past-due and attempt to recharge; access may be limited until the payment succeeds.
  • We may change pricing with at least 30 days’ notice. New prices apply at your next renewal.

4. Intellectual property

Phantum and all related software, branding, prompts, and design are owned by us and protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal interview preparation.

You retain ownership of the documents (resumes, job descriptions) you upload and the questions you ask. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to process that content solely to operate the Service — including transmitting it to the third-party providers listed in our Privacy Policy.

5. Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties — including Google (authentication), Stripe (payments), Supabase (storage and database), and OpenAI (AI models). Their availability is outside our control; an outage at one of them may make Phantum temporarily unusable. We are not responsible for actions taken by those providers.

6. Termination

You can delete your account any time from Dashboard → Account. We can suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, create excessive load, or otherwise pose a risk to us or other users. We will give reasonable notice when we can.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that the answers it produces will be accurate. To the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunities.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app and on this page at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

10. Contact and governing law

Questions, complaints, or DMCA notices: email support@phantum.app. These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator’s jurisdiction, without regard to conflicts-of-law principles.

Note: these Terms are a starting template intended for review by qualified counsel before public launch. If you operate Phantum in the EU, UK, California, or under other regulated jurisdictions, additional clauses may be required.
